Road Trip Philosophy

Roadtrip philosophy

Hello there friends + family! Welcome to our roadtrip through gender + sexuality! Our bags are packed, our itinerary is set, and we have every good intention of having an utterly lovely time.

We imagine that along the way we’ll meet some colorful characters, get into a couple of scrapes, find ourselves mildly uncomfortable, potentially ill packed (pun intended), and inevitably encounter some inclement weather but– with a good attitude, the kindness of strangers, the sanctuary of Starbucks’ bathrooms, and a mindful appreciation of stopping to smell the roses we’re also pretty certain that there’s a lot of beauty to be seen, laughter to be shared, and healing to be found along our travels.

With that in mind we will listen to our internal safety meters, be gentle with our bodies, and fearless with our hearts.

We’ll expect the unexpected, abandon foresight for flexibility, and not seek perfection in our play.

We’ll engage for the sake of experience and give into whatever our present process requests of us.

We’ll peruse our partners minds, bodies, spirits, and hearts as well as our own with conscientious but childlike curiosity.

We’ll savor our diversity, our fluidity, our connection, our triggers, our traumas, and our ultimate integration.

We’ll find beauty in respect and power in consent.

We’ll travel our journey of gender + sexuality hungry for the lessons of life– knowing that while each of us travels alone, we all share the same exploration on the road of identity play, presentation, performance, and formation.

We will make it a point to recount memories of roadtrips past, get lost in our present adventure, and write new stories along the way.

We will take our roadtrip with its wrong turns and awkward situations so that we might find and forge new paths that better suit our journey. We will sacrifice our timelines for much needed self-care pitstops and memory making. We will use traffic to slow down and talk, and kiss, and lick, and cry, and fuck.

Thanks for joining us and welcome to the tribe!
